Nothing about this laptop is a deal Dr. to give you a break from me I didnt respond to any of your other posts over the weeked, but this is a bad deal dude.

Where to start the Ryzen 5 first off is nothing special and you can find better Ryzen 7 or even even intel variants for an extra $50-150.

The RX6550M is not even half of the performance of the 4050 on benchmarks and we have had 4050 laptops in the past around the $600 mark and when on holiday sales like around Xmas. Also does not compete well against the 3050 either which also could be had for around those price points.

Then there is the RAM 8GB of ram is a joke.

Microcenter just had a refurbished victus with a 4060, 32gigs of ram, high end processor for $650 to put the deal into perspective... So all those TU's are just mindless TU. This deal would have to be closer to the $400 mark to even be worth it with all the other options we had recently.

Just some examples to illustrate how bad this deal is....

Ehh, those aren't really great comparisons. Two are microcenter in-store deals (not available for shipping), one of which was only at one specific microcenter. The 3050 mobile in two of those laptops is slower than the GPU in this one.

But I do agree that this is not really a deal. It's an okay price for an okay laptop. The GPU is nearly 20% weaker than the 4050 mobile and 40%+ weaker than the 4060 mobile. The 8GB of RAM is limiting. The CPU is a rebranded 6600hs.

I suggest that anyone looking for laptop try and stretch their budget to get one with a 4060 mobile and 16GB of ram. But I think the lowest those specs have gotten is $800 (barring in-store or ymmv deals).

Even that is a stretch. This is 30-40% weaker than a 7600s, which itself is 15% behind a 4050. In real world usage it's 50% slower, which is quite significant...

Waiting for a 4050 sale would be worth every dollar since the 4GB vram means it has limited longevity even if you do upgrade the system ram.

If you are limited to $600 the only active deal currently for something a little better than this, is this one. The CPU is pretty equivalent, but it has a better GPU with the 3050TI (95W) and it has more ram to start off with.

      https://www.ebay.com/itm/25619934...2d654b0INT

If you are not in a rush probably get a deal on something better in the next week with 4th of july weekend coming up.

There are plenty of examples of better computers than this for under $700 I just picked the first few from the top of my head. Here are more non microcenter examples.

Since the 3050 in some games is over 20% more powerful in FPS I dont think the 4050 number is accurate at all.

I know these are above your price point but found them so figure I give you the options, for $727 best buy has a good condition dell G15 with a better processor and a 4050. See some around Chicagoland but YMMV.

      https://www.bestbuy.com/product/d...ition=good

For $760 there are good condition omens with a 4060 and also better processor.

Looks like that Omen for $760 was too good of a deal, cause it now jumped to 870 and a bunch sold that I saw in stock yesterday.
