A study of ancient Egyptian art reveals a previously unrecognised visual language, ingeniously encrypted into the reliefs and the architecture. However, more surprising than the discovery of this language is the message it transmits. The information is scientific in nature, including remarkably accurate schematics of the brain, nervous system, and a particular focus on the biology involved in human consciousness. These findings have staggering implications for the historical timeline of both art and science..
Or
Are there still secrets hiding in the art and architecture of ancient Egypt? A team of visual artists begin a research project studying ancient aesthetics, and inadvertently make a scientific discovery that calls into question everything we know about our distant past and everything we know about our identity in the present. The finding raises some confrontational questions about our current historical understanding.
Move over Egyptology - Artists just cracked one of the longest standing riddles of human civilisation.
Magical Egypt 2, a new, fully crowd-funded 6 part documentary series, documents the discovery of a “decoder ring”that reveals a hidden message encoded in ancient Egyptian art and architecture. The biggest surprise was that the information encoded was scientific.
The research project began as an informal research collaboration by visual artists that each had a deep fascination with ancient Egypt. The team approached the study of ancient aesthetics from the perspective that there might be unacknowledged treasures demonstrable in ancient art and architecture. They also worried that there might be “uncomfortable contradictions” to the traditional view of the ancient world that were not getting the attention they deserved. Coming at the ancient aesthetic treasures from this perspective played an important role in what they found: a visual cypher hidden in the art, statuary and architecture of ancient Egypt.
The discovery:
The discovery the research team made was a previously unrecognised visual language of geometric and symbolic correspondence. Not only was it an ingenious way of encrypting science into art, statuary and architecture, but at the same time, it provides evidence of an explosive forgotten chapter in the history of human intellectual achievement. This hidden visual language demonstrates an amazingly sophisticated understanding of both brain architecture and brain function in place from the earliest artistic expressions.
“ When we started applying this decoder ring to ancient art not only did the fact it was transmitting science stun us but also what the particular focus of the science was. The art schematised, in the most beautiful way, a science that focus was the biology, neurology and endocrinology that generated human consciousness. Simply put, it was a brilliantly advanced science that's primary focus was on the central mystery of existence - human consciousness.”
Once the research team started looking for it, they were overwhelmed by the sheer volume of biometric schematics hidden plain sight as it were, demonstrating an utterly inexplicable degree of scientific sophistication at a time when the orthodox timeline of human history has us not yet having conceived of the wheel.
Upon solving the riddle, the team realised that this mode of visual communication was not unique to Egypt, and since the message seemed to be identical in ancient Taoist and Hindu traditions, it appears that the same science was also present. “It looks for all the world as though we’ve discovered something that has thus far gone undetected in the ruins of this ancient place. This discoveriy will have significant implications for both the history of art and the history of scientific accomplishment.”
This new series is a homage to the life’s work of the legendary John Anthony West who inspired the original series. In 1993, John’s brought his research to public attention a prime-time documentary special for NBC entitled “Mystery of the Sphinx”. It broke all viewership records at the time and permanently cemented John West as an accessible and entertaining proponent of an alternative model of human history. John’s work still enjoys a massive and global fanbase, as the crowdfunding of the new series demonstrates.
“Mystery of the Sphinx” won West an Academy award for “best research in a documentary”. His subsequent research, along we that of the research team presented in series two, is even more challenging, even more, paradigm-shifting, and sure to have people debating our deep ancestry and the degree of sophistication of ancient intellect for decades to come.
